This popular little eatery is a veritable gastronomic rendez-vous, combining traditional flavours with the conviviality typical of Cameroon’s capital. Passers-by can’t resist the temptation to stop in and sample these tasty snacks, which have become a veritable local institution.

Tsinga art market: a veritable Ali BABA cave

Around the corner from the Lycée de Tsinga in Yaoundé is the Tsinga craft market, a real hidden gem in the Cameroonian capital.

The market is brimming with treasures for curious visitors to discover.

Strolling through the aisles of this market is like plunging into a world of infinitely diverse local crafts. Refined jewellery, unique decorative pieces, colourful paintings – each stand is brimming with authentic creations that bear witness to the ancestral skills of the region’s artisans.

Yaoundé Central Post Office

A visit to the Central Post Office is a must.

The Black Peoples’ Bookshop, a cultural nugget, is located around the post office. Works by Calixthe Beyala sit alongside other literary treasures. With its majestic architecture just a few steps away, Notre-Dame cathedral invites you to take a spiritual break.

For a more down-to-earth experience, the Casino supermarket, a veritable showcase of modernity, will transport you to the United States for a visit.

 

Mont Fébé summit

Looking for a breath of fresh air and a breathtaking view? Mont Fébé, one of Yaoundé’s seven hills, is the place to be.

Climb its paths, visit the peaceful Benedictine monastery, and enjoy a picnic at the summit. The views over the city are breathtaking!

It’s the perfect getaway for nature lovers and budding hikers. 

Reunification monument 

The Reunification Monument is a must-see for any visitor to Yaoundé. Located at the crossroads leading to the Lycée Leclerc, near the French Embassy, it offers a glimpse of Cameroon’s history.

It’s well worth a visit to understand the importance of this event in the building of the Cameroonian nation.

He decided to open a theatre just for us, allowing us to get away from it all. It’s also a great way to visit the political capital.👌🏾
